Your child comes up with several possible solutions to a problem and compares how well each meets the criteria and constraints.

Try it at home

1. Have your child sketch two or three ideas before building anything.
2. Make a simple chart to compare ideas.
3. Ask, 'Which idea best fits the criteria? Why?'
