    On the first snowy afternoon of winter, Malik and his grandma stepped into the backyard. The snow was a thick white blanket over the grass. Malik packed snow into a bread pan to make blocks. Grandma stacked the blocks into walls. Soon their fingers were icicles, but the fort was almost done. As the sky turned orange, Malik set the last block on top. "Hot cocoa time!" said Grandma, and they raced to the warm kitchen.
