    Mathematics

I can divide by 8 and 9 using multiplication facts and patterns.

Look: 48 ÷ 8 by halving three times

    1. Half of 48 is 24. Half of 24 is 12. Half of 12 is 6.
    2. So 48 ÷ 8 = 6. Check: 8 × 6 = 48.
    3. For ÷9, use a times-9 fact: 9 × 2 = 18, so 18 ÷ 9 = 2.

Solve each fact. Check with multiplication.
