- Tens: 5 and 6 and 1 make 12. Write 2, regroup 1. Hundreds: 4 and 2 and 1 make 7.

I can tell what happens in a story from its central message and use abstract nouns.
Look: abstract nouns
- Some nouns you can see or touch: leaf, owl.
- Abstract nouns are ideas or feelings: kindness, friendship.
- Add -ness, -ship or -hood: kind → kindness, friend → friendship, child → childhood.
Owl's Umbrella Leaf
Owl found the biggest leaf in the forest. When rain came, she held it over her own head. "Find your own leaf!" she told Hedgehog and Wren. The wind grew stronger. Whoosh! It tore the leaf from Owl's claws. Hedgehog and Wren pulled her under a fallen log, where they all stayed dry together. When the next storm came, Owl's new leaf covered three heads instead of one.
